Patil operated the Brooklyn property and will manage the Independence property as well. He grew up in Mayfield Heights and returned to the area after graduating from the Cornell Hotel School in 2009 and spending several years in hotel brokerage in Denver. Patil said once Cloverleaf’s Independence hotel goes in, it will pursue additional development opportunities in the region. Success of each property depends on how much local business it captures although they may benefit from some overflow when the downtown hotels are fully occupied. Patil said Home2 Suites are designed to provide economical, casual accommodations for guests staying 30 days or longer, or a single day. The Patriot’s Way site adjoins a parcel owned by the city of Independence that the city is working to develop as a mixed-use project, Patil noted, which may also benefit the limited-service, extended-stay hotel.
